MEC Development Associates, formed in 2003, is a real estate investment and development company based in Miami, Florida.
The company and its principals have over twenty-five years’ experience in all facets of real estate, particularly in South Florida. During the Great Recession, the principals, through their affiliated entity, The Solution Group, created a Distressed Assets Practice wherein more than 4,000 middle class residential properties were acquired in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
These assets were rehabbed, rented and then sold as alternative investment vehicles, primarily to foreign capital sources. Prior to the Great Recession, the principals were affiliated with Fortune International Development, developers of, among others, Jade Residences at Brickell Bay and Le Meridien.
Thereafter the principals successfully completed many condominium conversion projects in South Florida and were involved in the design and structuring of real estate projects in various countries of South America.. Cassa at Georgetown, delivered between 2015 and early 2016 was a 118 unit townhouse community in Lauderhill, Florida; Cassa Brickell is an 80 unit luxury condominium project in the Brickell area of Miami to be delivered in the summer of 2016; Casa Grove is a 130 unit Class A multi-family residential project in Coconut Grove, Florida which commenced construction in the first quarter of 2018.
The principals of MEC Development are also principals in Ofizzina, a 97,000 sq ft commercial office condominium which commenced construction in March 2016.
